PURESHIELD ARGON

With a purity level of 99.998% BOC Pureshield Argon is an ideal gas for TIG welding, MIG welding and MAG welding of stainless steel, ferritic or martensitic stainless steel, or aluminium .

The low ionising potential of this high purity, inert gas allows for the easy forming of a welding arc without reacting with the metal components being welded.

Pureshield Argon is predominantly used as a shielding gas as it forms a good shield due to its high density and total inertness.

• 99.998% purity rating. Colourless, tasteless and odourless
• Inert to all materials at all temperatures and pressures
• Heavier than air, argon will collect in low-lying areas, ducts and drains
• An asphyxiant (does not support life)
• Lower thermal conductivity than most other gases
• Easy forming of welding arc without reacting to metal components
• Creates fluid welding pool when combined with other gases
